This is how the coffee subscription comes about
In order to enjoy delicious, freshly roasted coffee, you not only need good beans, but also the right packaging. We send the coffee subscription in an envelope: this means we can offer you free shipping and save on unnecessary cardboard boxes! This is not only sustainable, but also makes financial sense for you. But the coffee subscription in the letter has everything a good coffee packaging needs: zipper for resealability, a coffee valve on the back and is made of recycled material. How do you find your favorite coffee for your coffee subscription?
Either you first grab a tasting set consisting of 4 different coffees, or you get a coffee subscription letter as an single order! This means you have 450g of delicious coffee to try at home, have no shipping costs and can find your favorite coffee before you decide on a subscription!Women Power Blend
women power with African roots
Women Power Blend
We met Emma at a coffee fair in Berlin and tried the coffee from Rwanda right away – an ingenious green coffee from a great team from Rwanda, but somehow it lacked the power, the body to make an espresso blend out of it..
So we took this wonderful coffee, mostly grown by women, and went in search of a matching Robusta from Africa so that we could create a modern blend with an offbeat sweetness and full body.
Women’s power not because the blend is intended for women, but simply because the team behind the green coffee are the women from Rwanda of the Baho Coffee Company, to whom we dedicated this blend!
Rwanda Baho – Ikizere women coffee
In the middle of Rwanda, a small country in East Africa which experienced a massive gender distribution due to the genocide of the 90s, women play a central role. The Baho Izikere Coffee team consists mostly of women and prepares the wonderful washed coffee for our woman power blend. A wonderful coffee that is also great to drink as a filter, which we use here as the basis for our blend. Thanks to the high sweetness, the coffee is caramelized during roasting and gives it its basic caramel taste.
Tanzania Robusta, organic and fair trade
To give the mixture the necessary fullness, full body and great crema, we add 30% Robusta from Tanzania!
The Bukoba Region farm is located in western Tanzania, between the border with Rwanda and the picturesque Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world. Similar to Rwanda, Tanzania is still suffering from the consequences of a genocide that took place in 1994. 30 to 40 percent of households are run by single mothers, which is also reflected in the coffee farms and field work. Our sustainability philosophy of providing farmers with a solid financial basis on which they can build by purchasing quality coffee has been established in the Bukoba region since around 2001. Previously, the small farmers in the region sold their Robusta beans exclusively on the world market and via the raw materials exchange, whereby they were only able to pay very low wages for themselves and their families. Since the region has focused more and more on specialty coffees, income has increased steadily, which can be explained by the quality bonus above the market price.
