Why take the inexpensive plastic filter when the one made of ceramic or glass looks nicer?

Quite simply: from our point of view, the plastic filter does the best job!
Thanks to the insulating plastic, the heat stays where we want it to be when brewing: in the coffee!
Ceramic and glass remove too much heat from the brewing process, making it harder to brew great filter coffee.
